Day 44 : Sunday 7th June 2009

Long time no see! 18 months since I last posted, that was from Key Biscayne in December 2007.

Well we just returned from a long weekend in Antwerp, where we were celebrating the bosses birthday . Happy birthday to you , my CEO!

In other news, in the last 1 1/2 years I have aged by 5 years. Nothing really works anymore, quite frankly .

However, today we can be proud of Roger Federers greatness. He has now equalled the all time record of 14 slams and number 15 is surely just a question of time. Good luck Rog!

Day 43 : Saturday 22nd December

Greetings from Key Biscayne. Well, I've done it again.First full day of hols and I'm burnt. After cursing the 90 minutes spent in immigration at Miami Airport we are having a great time already . Went to Crandon Park for a hit this morning where we saw Tatiana Golovin practicing in what looked like her underwear . What can I say? Lay off the Kit Kats Tatiana!

We also cycled for a couple of hours so my legs are killing me. At least the terrain here is flat .Oh, and my bum hurts from the hard saddle.

Shock horror, think I just saw a cloud . Gonna check it out.

See ya soon!

Wednesday 28th November : Day 42

Every time it feels like work cannot get any tougher I think of an old University acquaintance of mine, Mike Ellam. He is Gordon Brown's official spokesman. Chin up !

Anyway, onto more important matters.........my forehand is very much two steps forward, three steps back right now. And I mean that literally , my footwork is appalling.

In three weeks we're off to Miami and the plan is to hit plenty of balls. They say practice makes perfect ; in my case I would settle for a small improvement.

My domestic ranking is unchanged . I remain the number 2 player in my household. God bless you, my ball and chain . Where would I be without you? (Number 1? Ed.)

Happy Horrordays to you all!

Statement following Tim Henman's Retirement Announcement

In light of Tim Henman's press conference this morning , Mrs F and I wish to announce that we have no current plans to travel to ATP/ITF events after the GB/Croatia Davis Cup tie at the All England Club in September .

First and foremost we would like to thank Tim for his consistency in appearing at virtually every event we have attended over the last ten years. We understand that this has not always been easy .

Furthermore , we would like to thank the travel and leisure organisations without whom our travels would have been impossible. They are many and varied, but we feel that Virgin Atlantic and Hyatt Hotels deserve a particular mention.

There will be some who say this is the end of an era. To them we say this is a new beginning and we look foward to starting this new chapter in our lives. We trust also that our privacy will be repected at this time of transition.

August 22nd : Day 39

Greetings from sunny Santa Barbara . Its our first time in California and by the looks of it we'll be coming back .Hopefully we'll be hitting tomorrow......that'll be the first time for 10 days and I can't wait .

Frankly I need to re-discover my equilibrium after some racquets ended up in the water at Lakeside recently . It was no surprise that I got killed in qualies for Nationals . The quest goes on and I am trying a Babolat now.

Sunday its off to NY to watch the real thing , lets hope the weather holds.

See you soon!
